Our Value

Starting with the professor’s initial handwritten class notes, CCN develops seamlessly integrated fully customized curriculums. Deploying integrated class notes, examples, practice modules, homework, quizzes and tests – a full curriculum all in one place.

CCN’s computational framework furnishes unlimited and interactive variations in practice modules, homework and quizzes that reinforce understanding of complex concepts. In-class quizzes generate live analytics that provide the professor with immediate insight to tailor targetted and customized lectures . CCN deploys fully automated grading and integration into the Learning Management System.

Value to professors demonstrated through elimination of time allocated to setting quizzes, tests and subsequent grading. Value to students demonstrated through increase in grades and alleviation of need to purchase expensive static and dated textbooks

Our Identity

Computational ClassNotes, incorporated in April 2015, is the result of several years of R&D using Wolfram Research Mathematica programming language. CCN replaces the traditional static learning environments and propels innovative education delivery by linking Class Notes with unlimited online practice modules to provide a real time dynamic learning environment to students.

Mission

CCN develops the most advanced computational technologies that provide ease of access to customized accredited educational modules anytime, anywhere on all devices. Our innovations shatter the complexities of geographic, financial, technological, communication and cultural barriers to learning. Our students’ first ethos facilitates access to accredited education to a global community of students who have a desire to learn.

Vision

To be a leader in the disruption of education provision in the 21st century. We are instigating disruption to remove the barriers to learning – geographic, financial, technology, cultural, complexity.

Our focus is in the areas of STEM and medical sciences - we believe it is science that will transform our world. The provision of these vital subjects and curriculums must be on technological platforms that facilitate ease of use and simplicity while delivering real time complex material using advanced machine-learning technology.

Our Motivation

The CCN team is driven by a passion to provide students everywhere access to the highest quality education. Using current technology and pushing the boundaries of these technologies up-to-date, innovative education can be available to those who have a desire to learn

Whether students are in Europe, North America, or in emerging markets, they all have access to the same level and quality of education modules.

We facilitate professors developing education modules that are ingenious and indigenous - and that combination aligned with our advanced technology solicits exponential engagement and creativity both by professors and students.

OUR METHODS

How does CCN work? The answer to that is both simple and complex!

The simple part is that we require from creative professors who want to design their own curriculums - their class notes, explanatory materials, examples and supplementary materials.

The complex part is what we do with the data received from professors. By applying the material to our computational framework using machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms, CCN generates unlimited variations in examples, practice modules, quiz and test questions and answers (of course, only one answer is correct!)

CCN generates the full course curriculum comprised of modules:

  • Class Notes
  • Examples
  • Practice
  • Homework
  • In-Class Quizzes
  • Real time analytics
  • Exams
  • Auto-grading
  • Integration to the LMS

OUR SPACE

With the use of cloud based technology, our customized educational modules run on laptops, desktops and mobile devices. CCN is changing the accessibility of accredited education across the globe. With modules running on mobile devices, students access content and use practice modules for any subject, from anywhere, at any time. Our delivery is not geographically and physically bound – our modules are everywhere!

Our Technologies

Using Wolfram Programming Language, Mathematica, CCN designs and develops dynamic educational modules that employ animated graphics for facilitating understanding of complex concepts and principles. CCN works with Wolfram Research to design technical specifications for delivery of our educational modules to those geographies that may not have access to the Internet.

Also, our Cloud Technology, running in real time, accesses the most up-to-date knowledge and research material that integrates easily into CCN’s modules. Based on our missions and vision, our use of Cloud Technology is focused on making easily accessible to students anywhere subject matter and curriculums learn anywhere, anytime.

Over the past few years I have had the great privilege to work with a group of people whose values and ethics are aligned to mine. The CCN team is a mix of young men and women across the globe whose careers are beginning working alongside mature business executives. Together we combine our passion, energy, enthusiasm and commitment along with competence and high value skills to establish an amazing global organization that is challenging norms. Whats most important to me is the values and ethics that we each share and bring to our work. In founding CCN, I have been able to live my long term vision of marrying my various passions. Of paramount importance, commitment to education, fairness in opportunity and receptiveness to possibilities with challenging existing education norms that are not meeting the needs of many of our modern students. I want to challenge head-on existing educational structures and publishing empires that are building their success on the backs of students while, not always providing the education that meets the future needs of humanity. My decision to found CCN and its non-profit sister organization, Loss of Generality, is based on my concern about the failure of education. Why do we continue to structure education in the 21st century with a 19th century model? We must challenge the status quo and demand more for this generation and those to come...

Wayne has been a technologist all his life. From early days of disassembling his first digital clock to current multi-device distributed system he has been peering under the covers and trying to make things work better. Wayne and Dara worked together on a number of different projects before the CCN concept came into being.

I met Lucia when she worked with me at The Anne Sullivan Centre in Dublin. Our strong values and business ethics are very much aligned. We both share a belief in building successful organizations with others and using a collaborative approach to management. We are very committed to growing and developing teams while building success together. As well as managing the finances and auditing processes, my work with CCN involves being a sounding board to Lucia and the team with regard to new opportunities for growth. Creating a totally new approach to publishing professors’ material - digitizing their work into discrete modules that can be purchased individually, pricing the material and working with Wayne to set up the revenue stream is exciting work. Specifically as we all work virtually, in several time zones and are dealing with a totally digital product and sales process.

My involvement with CCN began even before the company was established. As a student at University of Toronto, Canada, I worked with the embryonic technology and learning methodology that helped me obtain my undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science and Statistics. It was my first time to be exposed to programing and how using computer based visualization of concepts can enhance learning. I have since completed my actuarial designation and completed both FA and P certifications. As part of the CCN team, I work with professors in the US and Canada on production, quality assurance and compiling English language for the artificial intelligence (AI) engines for the math-based curriculums
